1998 - Cheryl Stadel-Bevans
Prior to coming to UCLA, I studied mathematics at Smith College (A.B.) and the University of Iowa (M.S.) and moved around the world. While earning both degrees, I had worked as a student archival assistant. At UCLA, I focused on archives and was particularly interested in electronic records.
Not long after I graduated from UCLA, my spouse Paul left the Navy, andwe eventually moved to Washington, DC. I have spent my professional career as an electronic records specialist, primarily with the National Archives and Records Administration.
I am also very active with my professional organizations. Most recently, I served on the Nominating Committee for the Society of American Archives and as the Program Co-Chair for the fall meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference. I am also completing mylast year of a six-year term as a member of the Executive Board of the Friends of the Smith College Libraries.
I would love to hear from my classmates and anyone in the DC area (whether you live here or are just visiting). My email address ischeryl.stadelbevans@nara.gov.
